My Brother, My Friend

In a world of chaos and despair,

We found solace in each other's care.

Together we laughed, we cried,

Through thick and thin, side by side.

You were more than just a friend,

You were a brother till the very end.

We shared our dreams, our fears,

Our hopes for the coming years.

But fate had other plans in store,

A cruel twist that we couldn't ignore.

The doctors' words like a dagger through my heart,

The news that tore our world apart.

Cancer, the silent killer,

Stealing you away, leaving me to wither.

I held your hand as you fought the fight, But in the end, you lost the light.

As I watched you slip away,

I prayed for a miracle, begged for you to stay.

But the pain was too much to bear,

As I whispered my final goodbye in ear.

Now I'm left with memories so dear,

Of all the moments we shared, so clear.

I miss your laughter, your smile so bright,

I miss our talks late into the night.

But I know you're in a better place,

Free from pain, free from the race.

And though I'll always grieve and mourn, I know one day, we'll meet again at dawn.

So until that day comes, my friend,

I'll hold you close, heart on the mend.

I'll cherish the moments we had together,

And keep you alive in my heart forever.
